Teleradiology is a part of tele-medicine which improves patient care by allowing radiologists to provide services without actually having to be present at the location of the patient.
This is most helpful in the emergency setting or when there is no radiologist present at the hospital/center at usual working hours. It’s also important when a subspecialty radiologist such as a musculoskeletal radiologist or neuroradiologist is required. Teleradiology helps here by allowing trained specialists to be available anywhere at any time.
